The 1st “Let’s Fun” Social Science Fair featuring social science popularization in Shanghai successfully held

On May 27th, the 22nd Shanghai Social Science Popularization week featuring “Excellent Shanghai, Wonderful Social Science”, opened at Shanghai Social Science Museum. “Let’s Fun” Social Science Fair, as the highlight of this popularization week and the city’s first social science popularization-themed fair opened on the same day. Fifteen social science interactive activities with their distinct characteristics including “The Undying Radio Waves and the Eternal Faith -- Wooden Telegraph Transmitter DIY”, “Bilibili Knowledge Planet”, and “Language Norms Pass Game” were offered free to visitors. “The Myths in the Books - The Exhibition in Memory of the 120th Anniversary of Mr. Zhao Jingshen’s Birth” Unveiled

April 24, the inauguration ceremony of “The Myths in the Books - The Exhibition in Memory of the 120th Anniversary of Mr. Zhao Jingshen’s Birth” was held at the Library of Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, co-sponsored by Fudan University Library and Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences Center. Lasting from 24 April to 25 June, this exhibition provides a comprehensive portrayal of Zhao Jingshen’s life and academic contributions, which can be divided into 8 sections, namely: literary creation, literary criticism, translation activities, editorial career, folk literature and art research, classical novel research, ancient Chinese drama research, teaching and education. The Commemoration of the 15th Anniversary of Mr. Wang Yuanhua’s Death and the Symposium on the Publication of “Wang Yuanhua’s Collected Works” were held at the Audio-Video Hall of Shanghai Museum of Social Sciences on April 20th, 2023. Marx exhibition opens in Shanghai

"The philosophers have only interpreted the world in various ways; the point, however, is to change it." These world-famous words by Karl Marx are engraved on his tombstone in Highgate Cemetery in the UK. As Tuesday marked the 140th anniversary of Marx's passing, an exhibition showing the life and works of the philosopher opened in Shanghai in honor of this greatest thinker in modern times. Titled Greetings from Trier - the Biography and Works of Karl Marx, the exhibition brings the collection from the Karl Marx House museum in Germany's Trier to China for the first time. Prof. Shen Ke of Fudan University elected as a Young Affiliate of the World Academy of Sciences for the Advancement of Science in Developing Countries (TWAS) in 2022

Shen Ke, professor of the School of Social Development and Public Policy of Fudan University, was elected as Chinese Young Affiliate of the World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) in Developing Countries in 2022, the only one from China this year. A total of 16 scholars from the mainland of China have been elected as young affiliates since 2007. Shen Ke is the second one in the field of social sciences and economics.
