“Face to Face with Masters in Shanghai New Era Good Youth Social Science Summer Camp” Opened

Young people are always considered the most active and vigorous force of any society. The rise of countries and nations cannot be attained their young people falter and slacken behind. On July 10th, “Face to Face with Masters in Shanghai New Era Good Youth Social Science Summer Camp”, jointly sponsored by the Office of Shanghai Spiritual Civilization Construction Committee and Shanghai Federation of Social Science Associations, and undertaken by Shanghai Social Science Career Development Research Center (run by the Academic Monthly magazine), was officially opened at Shanghai Social Science Museum.

This Social Science Summer Camp consists of 5 sessions, during which more than 20 renowned social scientists give lectures that make up a crash course of general social science education. The course is divided into five sections respectively designated as “The History of Shanghai: Traditions and Contexts”, “Sources of Civilization and Cultural Genes”, “Global Economy and Intellectual Horizons”, “Brief Histories of Belt and Road Nations” and “Philosophizing and Reading”. In addition, many interactive enquiries are scheduled, such as “A Dialogue with National Leaders for Intellectual Enlightenment”, “Amazing Social Sciences Library Collections”,“Creators Sharing Cultural Visions”, and “Bright Future for Social Science Youth”.

This social science summer camp is intended to inspire the youth with the academic achievements, rigorous scholarship and brilliant personality of those prestigious social scientists by means of “making it happen for the most eager children at the right age to meet with the best scholars ”. Hopefully their critical thinking will be sharpened and some of the children may have prove to have the potential to become future accomplished social scientists to solve old wearisome problems or define and solve exciting new problems.
