Shanghai Logic Association

Shanghai Logic Association was established in November 1979. Its first president was the famous philosopher Mr. Feng Qi, and the current president is Ms. Ning Lina.

According to the needs of the disciplinary development of logic, the association has rallied Shanghai-based logicians for academic research and exchanges, promoted the popularization and development of the discipline, trying to improve the logical thinking power of the Chinese people. The activity scope of the association covers academic research and exchange, recognizing and publicizing relevant research findings, providing professional training and consultations, and engaging in popularization and promotion of science.

Members of the association primarily come from educational and research institutions and governmental functions of all levels in Shanghai. Anyone who is engaged in logic teaching and/or research, or has a certain influence in any field related to the association’s academic interest, can apply for membership. Inheriting and carrying forward the traditions of the older generations of logicians, and upholding the spirit of pioneering and innovation, the association has successively held academic activities such as Shanghai Logic Forum for Young Scholars and a series of seminars on the frontier of logic theory. 

In addition, the association has actively recruited young logicians to cultivate successors, promote the disciplinary development of logic, and expand its influence in the logician community in general. It is expected to promote the prosperity and development of logic teaching and research in China and serve the country’s socialist modernization with Chinese characteristics in the new era.
